Examples of ai at work
IBM Watson
IBM created Watson, an artificial intelligence robot that uses machine learning and natural language recognition. Watson is operating in many industries, a major one being the healthcare sector (Gaudin, 2016). Currently, Watson is working with cancer institutes on DNA analysis, creating personalized cancer treatments, and helping improve managing methods for diabetes (Noyes, 2016). The future entails that Watson will be helping a doctor diagnose patient symptoms within the next five years (Gaudin, 2016).

Baxter
Baxter is a robot invented to make manufacturing easier and safer for human employees (White, 2016). Baxter eliminates tedious tasks that factory employees face, allowing them to focus on more complex and creative tasks (White, 2016). However, Baxter lacks understanding its surrounding environment and objects (White, 2016). Unlike humans, Baxter can not be placed into a random situation and know how to adapt.
